About Monolith

One platform for home services. Built by an operator who's lived the problem.

Why we built this

Anyone who's worked in home services knows the pattern. The dispatcher uses one tool. The technicians use another. The office runs the books in a third. Customer communications happen in a fourth. Documents live somewhere else entirely. None of it talks to each other, and the gaps between tools become the most expensive part of the day — duplicate data entry, missed handoffs, frustrated customers, technicians stuck on the phone trying to track down information that already exists three systems away.

Joshua Luttmer has been in home services since 2007 — first at DirecTV, then through a string of smaller installation and service companies, eventually starting and running his own. He's seen this pattern at every company he's been part of. Software was supposed to be the answer; instead it became its own problem.

Years later, running businesses of his own, he tried to do better. Better integrations, more careful tool selection, smarter handoffs. It didn't work. The available integrations weren't deep enough. Each tool was built for its own narrow job and resisted being part of a larger system. He kept falling back into the same mix-and-match pattern that had frustrated him for years.

That's when it became clear: the answer isn't more integrations. The answer is a system that's actually one thing.

Monolith was built from that conviction.

The product

Monolith is a unified platform for home services businesses — bringing CRM, customer communications, and document management under a single login, a single bill, and a single set of customer records. Less duplicate data entry. Fewer records stranded in only one tool. Fewer integrations to babysit.

Where many "all-in-one" platforms either lock you into rigid workflows or leave you to build everything yourself, Monolith ships with pre-built industry packages for verticals including roofing, general contracting, restoration, cleaning, pest control, and landscaping. Monolith is designed so a new business with clean data can be running in as little as a day. From there, the platform is designed to be customized around how the business actually works — without losing the integration that made a unified system worth choosing in the first place.

Built for the AI era, not retrofitted for it

AI is rapidly changing how companies do business — but much of today's business software still treats AI as an add-on: a lightweight assistant layered over workflows and data models that were never designed for it. Monolith was built differently. AI workflows are part of the core architecture, not strapped on top.

Moli, Monolith's AI agent, is being built to surface the right data at the right time across every product in the ecosystem. Because Monolith is one system rather than a loose stack of integrations, Moli is designed to reason across customer records, communications history, and document context from the same operating layer — that kind of cross-product awareness is much harder to deliver reliably when data lives across disconnected tools.

What this enables, by design: when a customer calls asking when their technician will arrive, Moli surfaces the technician's live status and GPS alongside the work order — without anyone digging through a dispatch app. When a customer asks about an invoice, Moli pulls the relevant document and history into the same conversation. With real-time transcription, Moli can listen to a live call and put the right data in front of the agent before they even ask for it — and in the right cases, answer the customer directly using the actual records, not generic AI-pattern responses.

Built by an operator

Monolith is being built by someone who runs home services businesses today. Joshua currently operates two home services businesses alongside leading Altus Labs — which means Monolith isn't being designed for home services operators in the abstract. It's being designed by one, with his own businesses as the first customers. The workflows, integrations, and shortcuts we ship have to survive contact with real jobs, real technicians, and real customers before they land in the product.

About the founder

Joshua Luttmer studied computer science at Colorado State University and has been a tech-forward generalist his whole career — comfortable across software, design, and the operational reality of running a business. After nearly two decades watching disconnected tools cost real money in industries he cares about, he set out to build the kind of platform he wished he'd had as an operator.
